Girls Basketball
On Feb. 1, Lower Cape May fell at home against Atlantic County Institute of Technology, 45-25. Olivia Levin led the Caper Tigers with 11 points.
On Feb. 2, Ocean City won 33-27 against rival host Middle Township. Nicole Piergross had 9 points for the Red Raiders while Bridget Ruskey had 9 points for the Panthers. Cape May Tech fell at home against St. Joseph, 37-26. Brianna Fetsick and Juliana McAnulty each scored 8 points for the Hawks. Wildwood fell 49-28 at home to Gloucester Catholic. Mackenzie McCracken scored 16 points for the Warriors.
On Feb. 3, Lower Cape May won on the road at Our Lady of Mercy Academy, 41-24. Ocean City won 62-18 at Bridgeton. Olivia Briggs scored 16 points for the Red Raiders. Wildwood Catholic won 37-31 on the road at Atlantic County Institute of Technology. Caitlin McMullan scored 14 points for the Crusaders.
On Feb. 4, Wildwood won 79-50 on the road at Salem. Mackenzie McCracken led the Warriors with a game-high 37 points. Cape May Tech fell to Cedar Creek, 61-33. Aras Walker had 14 points for the Hawks.
On Feb. 5, Wildwood Catholic took on Lower Cape May at home and won, 52-47. Caitlin McMullan led the Crusaders with 14 points while Eileen McNulty and Noelle Johnson each added 13 points. The Caper Tigers were led by Olivia Levin with 15 points. Middle Township defeated Cedar Creek, 48-32. Bridget Ruskey scored 14 points for the host Panthers. Cape May Tech fell at home against Oakcrest. Aras Walker scored 17 points for the Hawks.
On Feb. 6, Lower Cape May won at home to Bordentown in overtime, 52-48. Olivia Levin led the Caper Tigers with 16 points. At the War at the Shore tournament at Mainland High School, Middle Township won 47-32 against Donovan Catholic. Bridget Ruskey led the Panthers with 22 points. Wildwood Catholic fell to Toms River East, 45-31. Caitlin McMullan had 12 points for the Crusaders. At the Battle by the Bay Tournament at Atlantic City High School, Ocean City won 50-25 against Point Pleasant Boro. Olivia Briggs scored 10 points for the Red Raiders.
On Feb. 7, Wildwood hosted Cape May Tech and won, 77-39. Mackenzie McCracken scored her 1,000th career point and added 24 points for the Warriors. Brianna Fetsick scored 12 points for the Hawks.
Boys Basketball
On Feb. 1, Ocean City won at home 71-68 in overtime against rival Middle Township. Connor Laverty led the Red Raiders with 30 points. Will Neil led the Panthers with 28 points.
On Feb. 2, Wildwood Catholic defeated Atlantic County Institute of Technology at home, 93-63. DJ Smith had 21 points for the Crusaders. Wildwood fell to host Gloucester Catholic, 74-64. Kyion Flanders led the warriors with a game-high 37 points. Cape May Tech fell to host St. Joseph, 85-53. Josh Wright led the Hawks with 22 points.
On Feb. 3, Middle Township earned a 50-35 road win at Atlantic Christian. Ocean City defeated Bridgeton at home, 60-41. Noah Gillian led the Red Raiders with 22 points. Lower Cape May fell at home to St. Augustine Prep, 76-41. Pat Holden scored 18 points for the Caper Tigers.
On Feb. 4, Lower Cape May hosted rival Cape May Tech and won, 63-54. Pat Holden scored a game-high 37 points for the Caper Tigers. Josh Wright led the Hawks with 23 points. Middle Township defeated host Cedar Creek, 62-47. Tim Toney scored 27 points for the Panthers. Wildwood fell at home to Salem, 83-67. Billy Bolle had 16 points for the Warriors.
On Feb. 5, Ocean City defeated Cedar Creek 68-49 at the Battle by the Bay tournament at Atlantic City High School. Connor Laverty led the Red Raiders with 16 points while Noah Gillian added 15 points. Cape May Tech fell to Oakcrest 63-30 on the road. Jack O’Donnell had 12 points for the Hawks. Wildwood Catholic fell to Cherokee on the road, 61-55. Trey Smith had 23 points for the Crusaders.
On Feb. 6, Wildwood Catholic defeated Middle Township 56-45 at the Battle by the Bay tournament at Atlantic City High School. Caleb Fields scored 14 points for the Crusaders and Tim Toney had 19 points for the Panthers. Wildwood traveled to Camden Tech and won, 60-53. Kyion Flanders scored 22 points for the Warriors.
Wrestling
On Feb. 1, Middle Township won 39-36 on the road at Cedar Creek. Rafael Rodriguez (106), Carson Haas (132), Gary James Nagle (152), Austin Cominsky (182) and Maxwell Brown (285) each had pins for the Panthers.
On Feb. 2, Ocean City fell 42-15 at home against Egg Harbor Township. Andrew Morrill (170) had the only pin for the Red Raiders.
On Feb. 3, Ocean City won 33-32 on the road at Woodstown. Nick McCardell (130), Dustin Oves (132), Will Nickerson (160), Mike Gardner (182) and Kyle Strunk (220) each had pins for the Red Raiders.
On Feb. 5, Lower Cape May fell 48-14 on the road at Holy Spirit. Alex Pruszinski (126) had the only pin for the Caper Tigers.
On Feb. 6, Middle Township hosted Clearview Regional and Millville. The Panthers fell in both matches; 69-9 against Clearview Regional and 49-24 against Millville. Rafael Rodriguez (113), Gary James Nagle (152) and Issac Lopez (220) each had pins for the Panthers during the Millville match. Ocean City won 68-3 against Lindenwold and 69-6 against St. Joseph. Lower Cape May fell at home to Mainland, 57-24.
Swimming Playoffs
In the girls NJSIAA Sectional Tournament on Feb. 2, (7) Cape May Tech fell against (6) Gateway Regional, 91-79 in Group C.
In the boys NJSIAA Sectional Tournament on Feb. 2, (7) Middle Township earned their first playoff win against rival (6) Cape May Tech, 90-80 in Group C. (5) Ocean City defeated (8) Kingsway Regional, 109.5-60.5 in Group B.
In the girls S.J. Public Group C Quarterfinals on Feb. 4, (4) Middle Township defeated (5) Delsea Regional, 100-69.
In the boys S.J. Public Group B Quarterfinals on Feb. 5, (5) Ocean City fell to (4) Gloucester County Institute of Technology, 94.5-75.5.
In the boys S.J. Public Group C Quarterfinals on Feb. 7, (7) Middle Township fell to (3) Barnegat, 103-67.
