In March 2 South Jersey playoff action, Middle Township defeated Pennsauken Tech, 41-12. Ashley Ryan scored 17 points.
Lower Cape May toppled Buena, 58-35. Lauren Holden scored 29 points.
In a March 3 Group I clash, Wildwood downed Penns Grove, 65-57. Mackenzie McCracken scored 29 points and pulled 15 rebounds.
In March 4 parochial playoff action, Wildwood Catholic advanced with a 81-49 decision over Timothy Christian. Caitlin McMullan scored 23 points.
Lower Cape May advanced in Group II with a 63-22 demolition of Audobon. Lauren Holden scored 21 points.
Top seed Ocean City moved ahead in the South Jersey Group III tournament with a 61-39 victory. Grace Sacco scored 15 points.
In the March 7 Group II semi-final, Lower held off rival Middle, 46-36. Lauren Holden scored 27 points.
Wildwood advanced in Group I with a 69-67 nail-biter over Burlington City. Mackenzie McCracken scored 33 points and Leishley Reyes added 22.
Ocean City stopped Cumberland Regional, 38-21. Nicole Piergross scored 11 points.
Roselle Catholic ended Wildwood Catholic’s season with a 39-34 victory. Olivia Rulon scored 14 points for the 20-7 Crusaders.
Boys Basketball
In March 2 South Jersey playoff games, Middle defeated Lower, 57-25. Corey Greer scored 26 points. Mike Downes scored four points for the Capers.
In a March 3 Group III contest, Ocean City edged Oakcrest, 49-46. Connor Laverty scored 13 points.
Wildwood advanced in Group I with a 59-38 victory over Burlington City. Jahnire Coleman scored 22 points.
In a March 4 Group II game, Middle’s venerable Tom Feraco coached his 700th career win as the Panthers demolished West Deptford, 74-33. He became the fourth South Jersey coach, and in first Cape May County, to the milestone. His career record is 700-243. The coach’s son, Mike, scored 17 points.
Wildwood Catholic advanced in parochial playoff action with a 63-46 decision over St. Joseph’s. D.J. Smith scored 21 points.
In March 7 playoff games, Wildwood Catholic upended Cardinal McCarrick , 61-55. D.J. Smith scored 21 points.
Camden ended Middle’s season with a 53-45 decision. Corey Greer scored 13 points. The Panthers finished at 18-10.
Toms River South stopped Ocean City, 68-61. Connor Laverty scored 28 points. The Red Raiders finished at 10-12.
Wildwood qualified for the South Jersey Group I semi-final with a 69-67 decision over Haddon Heights. Freshman Kylon Flanders scored 29 points.
