Cape May County Football Results:
In Friday night action, Middle Township hosted Pleasantville and fell 6-0 in a close game. Key defensive plays for the Panthers in the first half were made by Cody Kern, Gary James Nagle and Romeo Rodriguez. The Panthers offense started heating up at the end of the game with quarterback Cam Hamer finding Matt Marino and Karl Guilian to get within scoring position. Unfortunately, the drive stalled and the visiting Greyhounds earned a spot in the post season.
Middle Township (3-5) will host Delran on Thursday night at 6 p.m. at Memorial Field in a consolation game.
Lower Cape May fell 41-24 at Buena Regional. Quarterback Brennan Ray had two touchdowns with Jake Robb and Jonas Lumbruno each adding one for the Caper Tigers.
Lower Cape May drops to 1-7 and will host Cumberland Regional on Thursday night at 6 p.m. in Erma for a consolation game.
Ocean City fell to undefeated St. Joseph, 46-7, at home on Friday night. Liam Bergman scored a 49-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter for the Red Raiders.
Ocean City stands at 6-2 overall with a No. 4 see in the South Jersey Group III playoffs. They will travel to No. 5 Delsea on Friday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Franklinville.
Wildwood (0-8) finished the season at home Friday night with a 47-8 loss against Clayton. Nate Lopez scored the lone touchdown for the Warriors.
