Fitness Festival 5K Set Sunday in Stone Harbor

STONE HARBOR — Fitness should be fun for everyone. That’s the motto of the second annual Jaws Youth Fund Fitness Festival and 5K taking place Sunday, at the 82nd Street Park.
The Fitness Festival is an action-packed day that emphasizes the importance of physical activity and healthy choices for people of all ages,” said ESPN’s Monday Night Football Analyst and former NFL Eagles great Ron Jaworski, co-founder of the event.
The 5K Run/Jog/Walk kicks off at 9 a.m. with more than a dozen local mascots holding an honorary ‘start’ by racing the first 50 meters and then cheering on the 5K participants. Team participation is encouraged with awards given to the best-dressed team and largest team.
The Festival will feature fun for the whole family with children’s activities, on-site interactive exhibits and tons of free goodies. The main stage will be rockin’ all day (from 7:30 a.m. – noon), with music, on-stage acts, mascot appearances and raffle item giveaways.

• Get free medical screenings, including blood pressure and cholesterol testing
• Learn how to use the new Hollywood fad – the stand-up paddleboards
• Refine your soccer skills
• Participate in a mini tennis clinic from the tennis pros at Riverwinds Tennis & Golf
• Cleanse yourself with Wake-up Yoga, or let the kids bend, twist and curl with Kids Yoga
• Get your face painted and play with balloon art
• Get up close to sea life at the sea creature exhibit from the New Jersey Academy for Aquatic Sciences
