COURT HOUSE – Runners took their marks Oct. 18 for the Cape May County Cross Country Championships at the Cape May County Park.
Ocean City’s Anthony Conte won the boys’ individual race in 16:01.27 with teammate Gavyn Fox finishing close behind in second place.
Cape May Tech’s Leo Zaccaria took third place. Ocean City runners took the next five spots.
On the girls’ side, Ocean City’s Casey McLees won the individual title in 18:51.66.
Lower Cape May’s Christina Adams took second and Ocean City’s Rebecca Millar took third.
In team scoring, both of Ocean City’s teams dominated another year. The Red Raider boys’ finished with 18 points. The first place win marked their fourth consecutive team title. Wildwood Catholic placed second with 63 points and Lower Cape May placed third with 81 points.
The Red Raider girls’ finished with 29 points for their ninth straight team title. Wildwood Catholic had 39 points for second place with Cape May Tech in third with 87 points.
All six Cape May County high schools sent runners to compete in the championships.
