College/Men’s League Basketball Playoff Results for August 3.
Surf Bike Rentals – 79
Morgan Stanley – 74
Mark DiRugeris had a team high 21 points for Surf Bike Rentals on Wednesday night. Rip Engel added 20 of his own to seal the playoff win for Surf Bike. Bob Manning had a game high 28 points for Morgan Stanley. Mike Carney poured in 23 points in the loss, eliminating Morgan Stanley from the playoffs.
Middle – 89
Montego Bay – 59
Tom Ferraco led Middle in scoring with 18 points. Lamar Greer and Mike Farrow each chipped in 17 of their own in the win. Bill Bolle had a game high 23 points in the loss. Pat Kelly had 13 points for Montego bay, as they are now eliminated.
Bayview – 76
North End American Grill – 65
Brent Anderson and Jon Greene each had a game high 23 points in the win for Bayview. Jack Binder added 10 of his own to advance Bayview to the next round of the playoffs. Ricky Haas had a team high 23 points for North End American Grill. Eddie McWade had 15 points in the loss, as North End American Grill is now eliminated.
Tri-State All Stars – 64
Smitty’s Parking – 63
In the biggest upset of the night, Tri-State All Stars edged out Smitty’s Parking by one point to move forward in the playoffs. Ozzie Smith-Bey had a team high 19 points in the win. Mike McGlinchey had 12 points and the go-ahead three pointer to seal the win for Tri-State. Ryan Haigh had 16 points in the loss for Smitty’s Parking, as they are now eliminated from the playoffs.
