Cape Tech’s Assistant Softball Coach Earns National Certification

Cape Tech’s Assistant Softball Coach Cortney Walters is congratulated for earning the NFHS Coach Certification.

By Press Release

CREST HAVEN – Cape Tech’s Assistant Softball Coach Cortney Walters earned national certification through the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS). The NFHS Coach Certification Program is a national professional credential offered to individuals who are currently coaching or aspire to coach at the interscholastic level. The attainment of this national certification demonstrates the completion of a series of courses offered by the NFHS that will enhance the ability of the coach to better serve the students, the school, the community and the profession of coaching.
There are a number of benefits of the NFHS National Certification Program including improving the sport experience and skill development of the students who participate, preserving education-based athletics in schools by using the sport experience, enabling the coach to stay current in their sport and the profession of coaching, and much more.
Coaching leadership should be of the highest quality and should provide athletes with examples of exemplary behavior. Measurement of leadership success should not just be measured in terms of the tangible evidence of the victories and defeats. Instead character, humility, team first commitment, courage and integrity are major objectives of the athletic program at Cape Tech.
