COURT HOUSE – Eight local high school seniors and members of the Cape Express Soccer Club were awarded the George Pratt Memorial Scholarship on May 21 for their achievements on and off the soccer field.
The student-athletes (four girls and four boys) were awarded the scholarships based on academic achievement, involvement in school activities, participation in the soccer club and participation in other sports and community service, along with being a soccer player at the high school or Varsity Club level.
Female recipients include Lower Cape May seniors Tayanis Torres (Chestnut Hill College), Gabrielle Masterson (University of Kentucky) and Jenna Durbin (Marywood University) along with Middle Township senior Emma Stanford (Dickinson College).
Male recipients include Middle Township seniors Matt Brown (Cabrini University) and Tim Sawyer (Cabrini University) along with Wildwood Catholic’s Beck Lindsay (Cabrini University) and Tyler Mericle (Rowan University).
