Girls 

U8 Storm vs Lumberton AA Strikers: Cape Express Storm had an amazing first game. Ainsley Reed lead the team with 4 goals with one assist by Sophia Smith. Brynn Licata, Maggie Farrell and Chloe Frame  played strong offense and kept the ball in motion.  Addison Shagren, Betsy Pappas, Ella Harkins and Katelyn Walker played awesome defense and kept the ball away from the goalie.  Gabby Oliver, Hannah Morales, Ciara Jonassaint and Joelle Murphy played amazing defense and offense throughout the game.  

U9 Showstoppers vs SJ Elite Barons: The Showstoppers dominated the field against South Jersey Elite Barons with their outstanding teamwork and possession game. Ashley Seigel, Sienna King, Carmen O’hara, Grace Repici, and Anna Delaney were excellent playmakers. Bella Lund, Reagan Flickinger, and Grace Murphy were outstanding.  

U12 Sand Sharks 1 vs Upper Township Cyclones 2: Maddyn McAnaney’s first goal kept the Sand Sharks in the game to open the Spring Season. Strong defensive play by Abby Ridgway and Kayla Kilroy kept Upper’s offensive chances to a minimum.

Allie Sutter, Shannon Kavanagh, and Michaela Francesconi had a few good scoring chances for Cape but couldn’t put the ball in the net. Kavanagh had 2 beautiful goals called back. Two unfortunate goals off of set pieces put the Cyclones on top for good. 

U13 Comets 2 vs. Pittsgrove SC United-0: Midfielder Jordan Dougherty assisted on both Comets goals. The first on a corner kick headed in by Isabella Aftanis and the second on a cross from the corner that Carmen Licata buried into the back of the net. Taylor Magill, Anna Bond and  Maddie Haring turn in strong efforts in the midfield. Stephanie Carey, Morgan Adams and Riley Fisher played well on defense. Brynn Bock kept the sheet clean for the second straight match.  

U14 Herricanes 3 vs Harrison Hurricanes 2: Gina Geraci scored 2 and Winter Farve scored the third for the Herricanes.  Alana Warf held the midfield and. Delany Cluff tightened the defense.  Sophia Terenik held firm in the net.  

 

Boys 

U9 Hammerheads vs. Red Tarkill Soccer Club: The weather was uncooperative, but a fine match was played by both teams. It was 1 to nil at the end of the first half with Tarkhill holding the lead. Things turned around in the second half with the Hammerheads scoring three goals, by Jack MacLeod, Eddie Hirsch and a beauty of a goal from the foot of Gavin Burns. Tarkhill did respond with two goals in the second half. An exciting game that ended in a 3-3 tie.  

U9 Heat vs. Wenonah Hurricanes: The Heat stayed hot in snowy weather facing the Hurricanes in Wenonah. A strong fight by the team lead offensively by Dominick Morrero scoring two goals. Matthew Radzieta and Amine Cheriffi scored as well, one goal each. Landon Wallash played keeper throughout the game. 

U9 Riptide vs Voorhees Force: The U9 Riptides blasted the Voorhees Force in frigid conditions at the Goshen Complex.  Colin Jastremski and David Del Conte scored two goals each.  Brandyn Acevedo and Ryan Davis scored a goal each as well.  Wyatt Hand and Micheal Kosmin were both solid in goal. 

U10 Breakers vs. Mt. Laurel United: The Breakers, led by Tommy Shagren, played a tenacious game in challenging conditions. The United scored first, but the Breakers rallied back. Logan Parsells scored twice for the Breakers, both times on assists from Tommy Shagren to end the first half. Both teams fought hard throughout the second half. Down by one just before the final whistle, Evan Shoffler’s attack created a deflected ball in the box that Jack DelMonte finished into the net to drawn even. The Breakers continue to mount total team efforts, working well as a unit supporting each other, and not giving up.  

U11 Blitz 3 vs. Hamilton Elite FC Machine-2: Lead by Jimmy Kane’s hat trick, the Blitz defeated the Machine 3 to 2. Ryan Dougherty had two assists. Center back Archie Lawler all added an assist. Trevor Magill, Evan Merritt and Branden McGrath provide support on offence. Devon Bock was solid on defense. Drew Nelson was outstanding in goal turning back a Machine penalty kick. 

U11 Thunderbolts-1 vs Mantua Warrior-0: A hard fought battle, with outstanding defensive play by Justin Lopez and GK Jimmy Kurtz, held everyone on the edge of their seats. Good combination play in the center of the field, by Cameron Odom feeding David Zarfati, opening the first half scoring which ended 1-1. David Zarfati, taking a pass from halfback Harry Springer, scored the go ahead gaol with a nifty run inside the box to open the second half. A well played game by both teams on a cold, wet and windy March afternoon.  

U12 Union-4 vs Westmont Union-1: Ryan Turner posted another outstanding effort in goal. Tommy Carr’s free kick started the scoring. Matt Hays, Xander Hardin, and Anthony Avilla each hit the back of the net. Chile Adams had two assists. Mace Fiorucci, Miguel Valencia, and Austin Carr dominated the midfield play and shutdown the Westmont attack.  

U13 Force -2 vs Mount Laurel United-2: A hard fought battle, with outstanding defensive play by Justin Lopez and GK Jimmy Kurtz, held everyone on the edge of their seats. U13 United-2 vs Westmont Wolverines-0: Oscar Sanchez and Gavin Quinn each scored in the match against Westmont. .Connor Bezaire and Travis McCray provided assists for the United, while Braiden Scarpa recorded his first shut out of the Spring Season.
