VILLAS – Get off the couch and put the video game down. Parents have a healthy and fun alternative for children to get outside and enjoy nature in Lower Township, according to a release.
Students in fourth through sixth grades will be introduced to basic physical fitness, bicycle road rules, and safety.
The instructor will guide students through scenic areas along the Cape May County Bike Path.
Children will be encouraged to identify wildlife including unique bird species while exercising. This is a basic introductory level class, and all equipment and instruction are included in the course fee.
Bicycles, helmets, and guide are provided.
Registration will be held for students in grades 4, 5, and 6 through Sept. 23 on a first-come-first-serve basis.
There is a fee for the seven-week class.
All classes will be held Sundays from 10 to 11 a.m.
Details, including special instructions, drop off and pick up locations and weather postponements will be provided by the instructor.
Classes will run Sept. 30 through Nov. 4, 2018.
Register for both programs at the Lower Township Recreation Center, behind Lower Township Hall in the municipal complex at 2600 Bayshore Road.
For information call 609-886-7880 ext. 0 or visit the township’s website at townshipoflower.org.
