WILDWOOD CREST – Reconstruction and resurfacing of basketball and tennis court facilities are scheduled to be completed before Fourth of July weekend, the borough engineer announced early this week.
Construction work at the basketball courts, located at Scoop Taylor Park at Heather Road and Ocean Avenue, and the tennis courts, located at Wisteria Road and Ocean Avenue, has been ongoing since late May.
The Wildwood Crest Recreation Department has announced alternative options to residents and visitors in lieu of the availability of those facilities. The indoor basketball courts at the Crest Pier Recreation Center are currently available from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
In addition, outdoor basketball court facilities are available for use at Crest Memorial Elementary School located at St. Louis and Pacific avenues. Those courts can be utilized after 4 p.m. weekdays through June 22 and from dawn to dusk on weekends and on weekdays after June 22.
For tennis, the public may use the tennis court facilities located on Washington Avenue west of New Jersey Avenue. Those courts are available daily from dawn to dusk and are free of charge.
