Basketball Fundraiser
Slated at Crest Pier
WILDWOOD CREST – Hoops for Kait, a basketball-related fund-raiser to benefit the Kaitlin M. Anzelone (KMA) Foundation, is scheduled for Sun., April 17 at 1 p.m. at the Wildwood Crest Pier Recreation Center.
The event includes a free-throw shooting contest for various age groups, including grades 3-5, grades 6-8 and high school through adult. Prizes will be awarded to winners in each age group.
Registration is $15 for grade school participants, $20 for high school and adult contestants. Knockout and half-court shooting contests will also be held. All participants will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag.
Day-of-event registration begins at noon, with the event beginning promptly at 1 p.m.
The event is being held in memory of Kaitlin Anzelone, a former three-sport standout and member of three state basketball championship teams at Wildwood High School who passed away after a courageous eight-month battle with leukemia just two years after graduating from high school.
All proceeds from the event will go to the foundation named in her memory, which provides support for those suffering from cancer and their families and also awards college scholarship money for graduating seniors from area high schools.
Donations to the KMA Foundation will be accepted at the event.
