Middle Township High School named Anthony Farmer as the new boys basketball head coach Thursday night. The 2005 St. Augustine Prep graduate was a key member of the Hermits basketball team and continued to play for four seasons at Rutgers University.
Farmer spent a few seasons as the Hermits assistant coach. He will replace the legendary Tom Feraco who announced his retirement from the Panthers boys basketball program on April 19.
Wildwood Crest native and 1991 Wildwood High School graduate Frank Vogel was named the new head coach of the Orlando Magic on Friday. The Indiana Pacers did not renew Vogel’s contract at the end of this season.
The decision to hire the 1991 Wildwood High School grad came shortly after former Magic head coach Scott Skiles resigned May 12. Vogel spent six seasons with the Indiana Pacers, finishing with a record of 250-181 in the regular season and 31-30 in the postseason.
Lower Cape May’s tennis coach Greg Douglass earned his 300th career win in Friday’s 5-0 win over Buena Regional. The Caper Tigers have a winning record of 12-6 as of Monday.
