Area Wins from the Week: Oct. 9-15

Area wins from the week of Oct. 9-15 in field hockey and soccer.
Field Hockey
Lower Cape May hosted Middle Township and won, 3-2, in overtime on Oct. 10. Maddie Schiffbauer scored the game-winner for the Caper Tigers and Leah Jones had two goals. Goalie Makayla Hueber made ten saves. For the Panthers, Kate Herlihy had two goals and Kate Hand had ten saves in cage.
Ocean City won 2-0 at Millville. Chloe Prettyman and Tara McNally each scored for the Red Raiders.
They won again on Oct. 13 when they hosted Lenape. Reese Bloomstead led the team with two goals in the 3-1 win.
Lower Cape May won, 4-1, at home against Buena Regional on Oct. 15. Reese Bracken had a goal and assist for the Caper Tigers.
Middle Township won, 1-0, against Cedar Creek. Caroline Gallagher scored the game-winner for the Panthers.
 
Girls Soccer
Cape May Tech hosted Pleasantville on Oct. 9 and won, 3-2. Paige Dooley had two goals and Karlee Williamson added one for the Hawks.
Ocean City won 3-0 on the road at Oakcrest. Hannah Keane had two goals and Summer Reimet tallied for the Red Raiders. Goalie Abbey Fenton made four saves for the shutout.
The Red Raiders won again, 2-1, on the road at Middle Township on Oct. 12. Carly Reighard and Tanis McDonnell each scored for the visitors. Emily Mendel had the lone goal for the Panthers.
Wildwood hosted Cape May Tech on Oct. 15 and won, 2-1. Jenna Hans had both goals for the Warriors.
Ocean City won, 2-0, at Egg Harbor in the semifinal round of the C.A.L. tournament. They will advance to the finals on Oct. 17.
 
Boys Soccer
Ocean City hosted Oakcrest on Oct. 9 and won, 2-0. Fisher Hudak and Luke Varallo each scored for the Red Raiders.
The Red Raiders hosted Middle Township and won, 1-0, on Oct. 11. Trevor Paone scored the lone goal off of Fish Hudak’s assist. Panthers’ goalie Braiden Scarpa made four saves in net.
Wildwood hosted Lower Cape May on Oct. 12 and won, 2-1. Tyler Tomlin and Andrew Zielinski each scored for the Warriors while Dennis Olgun made seven saves in net. For the Caper Tigers, TJ Shoffler scored and Mark Ryan made eleven stops in the goal.
Wildwood won 8-4 at Holy Spirit on Oct. 15. Tyler Tomlin led all scorers with five goals.
Ocean City won 5-0 against Pleasantville in the semifinal round of the C.A.L. tournament. They will move into the final game against St. Augustine Prep on Oct. 17.
