WILDWOOD CREST – The Wildwood Crest Recreation Department has announced the addition of two new water-based fitness classes at the Joseph Von Savage Memorial Pool.
The Von Savage Pool will host Aqua Yoga classes on Mondays at 7:15 p.m. beginning Sept. 30. Under the direction of certified Aqua Yoga instructor Karen Manette Bosna, this class will feature all the traditional aspects of yoga in a water-based setting, which offers comforting support to the joints as well as strength-building resistance training.

The Von Savage Pool will also host weekly Aqua Zumba classes on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. beginning Oct. 22. This class will include music beats for dance exercise integrated specifically for a water-based workout. The class will be led by Kellie Wood, a longtime certified Zumba instructor who recently also earned a specialty license in Aqua Zumba.

The Von Savage Pool will also continue its Aqua Flow Workout class, a water aerobics program that promotes resistance training and improved cardiovascular health. Aqua Flow Workout classes are held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:30 a.m. and are led by certified instructor and recreation leader Bobi Lyon. (Note: Aqua Flow Workout classes will not be held Oct. 7, 9 and 11.)
Cost for any Von Savage Pool fitness program is $5 per class. A punch card good for any 20 water fitness classes can be purchased for $75. No pre-registration is necessary for any class.
