AVALON – The Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children hosted its first annual Turkey Trot on Nov. 23 where they raised $12,000 towards the Home.
Nearly four hundred people participated in the Turkey Trot this past Friday morning after Thanksgiving. Families and friends gathered to run the 5K or take a more leisure 1.5 mile walk together. The first 300 people received T-Shirts that were sponsored by Max Joy Life.
The Turkey Trot kicked off a weekend of events in Avalon and Stone Harbor, where Thanksgiving weekend is arguably one of the most popular weekends all year.
