Girls Basketball:
Ocean City (25-5)
The Ocean City girls had the longest season in the county, finishing their season with a record of 25-5. These games included an appearance in the Cape-Atlantic League Championships, South Jersey Group III sectional finals and the first round of the NJSIAA State Tournament. The Red Raiders earned the South Jersey Group III sectional championship title with a win against Toms River East. Seniors Olivia Briggs and Nicole Piergross were key players, along with junior guard and First-team All-Star Grace Sacco.
Middle Township (25-4)
The Middle Township girls finished their season with a 25-4 record. They earned their fifth Cape-Atlantic League title with a close overtime win against county rival Ocean City. Junior guard Bridget Ruskey led the Panthers this season scoring an average of 13.3 points a game, earning herself recognition as a C.A.L. First-team All-Star. Jenna Herlihy, also a junior guard and First-team All-Star, averaged 8.4 points a game. Senior Summer Sides and junior Allison Hunter earned C.A.L. Second-team All-Star recognitions for their positions as forwards. Head coach John Leahy earned himself a title of Coach of the Year in the Cape-Atlantic League for girls basketball.
Wildwood Catholic (21-6)
The Wildwood Catholic girls finished their season with a 21-6 record. For the first time in 19 seasons, the Crusaders clinched the Cape-Atlantic League United Conference title. Notable players include First-team All-Stars junior forward Caitlin McMullan and freshman guard Briel Herbet. McMullan averaged 16 points a game while Herbert average 9.3 points. Junior guard Lauren Moretti earned herself recognition as a Second-team All-Star.
Wildwood (18-9)
The Wildwood girls finished the season with a record of 18-9. First-team All-Star junior guard Mackenzie McCracken led the Warriors this season, averaging 19.6 points a game and finishing the season with 1,202 career points. Senior forward Jillian Freeman and freshman guard Maddie McCracken were key players this season as well, earning First-team and Second-team All-Star recognitions, respectively.
Lower Cape May (15-13)
The Lower Cape May girls finished the season with a 15-13 record. First-team All-Star sophomore guard Olivia Levin led the Caper Tigers this season averaging 12.7 points a game. Junior guard Marissa McGaffney was also a key player for the team this season, earning recognition as a Second-team All-Star.
Cape May Tech (8-17)
The Cape May Tech girls finished this season with an 8-17 record. Senior guard Jacqui Schmucker earned Second-team All-Star recognition. Seniors Aras Walker and Danielle Pennington, along with junior Philicia London, were also key players for the Hawks this season.
Boys Basketball:
Wildwood Catholic (19-7)
The Wildwood Catholic boys finished their season with a record of 19-7. The Crusaders earned the Cape-Atlantic League United Conference title for the fifth straight season. The talented squad included First-team All-Stars senior guard D.J. Smith, who average 15.2 points a game, his brother junior guard Trey Smith and sophomore forward Caleb Fields. D.J. Smith also earned a spot on the Carino Club Senior All-Star team. Junior guard Ryan Legler and sophomore forward Charles Fields earned recognition as Second-team All-Stars.
Middle Township (19-7)
The Middle Township boys finished their season with a 19-7 record. The Panthers were led by First-team All-Star senior guard Tim Toney, who averaged 16.5 points a game. Toney also earned himself a spot on the Carino Club Senior All-Star team. Senior forwards and Second-team All-stars Joe Fala and Will Neill also added to the success of the team this season. Head coach Tom Feraco was recognized as the boys basketball Coach of the Year in the Cape-Atlantic League.
Ocean City (18-8)
The Ocean City boys finished their season with an 18-8 record. C.A.L. First-team All-Star senior forward Connor Laverty led the Red Raiders this season with an average of 16.3 points a game. Laverty finished his high school career with 1,164 career points and also earned himself on the roster of the Carino Club Senior All-Star team. Seniors Garrett Jones and Noah Gillian were key players this season along with junior Luciano Lubrano.
Cape May Tech (7-19)
The Cape May Tech boys finished their season with a 7-19 record. Stand-out freshman guard Josh Wright led the Hawks this season with an average of 20.5 points a game, earning himself First-team All-Star honors. Sophomores Jack O’Donnell and Ryan Cleffi were notable this season.
Wildwood (6-18)
The Wildwood boys finished with a 6-18 record this season. Second-team All-star sophomore guard Kyion Flanders was a stand-out player for the Warriors, averaging 20.2 points a game. Junior guard Trayvon Young was also a key player this season, earning himself recognition as a Second-team All-Star.
Lower Cape May (4-21)
The Lower Cape May boys finished this season with a record of 4-21. Sophomore guard Pat Holden led the Caper Tigers this season, averaging 19.2 points a game and earning First-team All-Star recognition. Senior Mike Downes, junior Tony Genaro and sophomores Khamar Matthews and Aaron Cottrell was also notable players for the team.
