BUENA VISTA, NJ – Shore Animal Aid is looking for a home for this dog who had to have his leg amputated last week. This white lab pit bull mix, now named Prince, was found dumped on Route 40 in Buena Vista. The State Police contacted animal control and Officer Chelsea Lippincott responded and picked him up. The police thought he was hit by a car because he had use of only three legs. Prince was immediately taken to the local veterinary clinic where it was determined this was an old injury, possibly from being run over by a car, that was never treated.
Prince was then transported to the Atlantic County Animal Shelter and after seven days, no one claimed him. Officer Lippincott felt this dog needed to be saved and asked Shore Veterinarians if they would take him to adopt out. Dr. Nick Holland agreed to take him and help find him a new home. It was determined through exams and x-rays that he had nerve damage in the leg and needed the front left leg amputated.
A fund has been set up by Shore Animal Aid to help Prince and Officer Lippincott with the expense of the surgery. If anyone is willing to donate for this wonderful dog, please go to www.gofundme.com/23r3ygrw. For mail donations, please make checks payable to SHORE ANIMAL AID, 88 Route 610, Petersburg, NJ, 08270.
