COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County 4-H Youth Development Program announced the winners of the 4-H Pet Show held July 20.
According to a release, this annual event, sponsored by Smeltzer and Sons Feed and Pet Supplies, is held annually during the 4-H Fair and is open to the public.
The 2019 Grand Champion was Mary Grace Horan, 11, and her dog, “Paulie”, 7-months-old.
Smeltzer & Sons Feed & Pet Supplies will be providing Horan with free pet food for “Paulie” for an entire year. Other winners included: Best in Show Rabbits/Small Furry Pets: Sophia Hess and her baby rabbit, Best in Show All Pets: Mila Adams and her dog, “Bane,” and Best in Show Adult: Margie Mallon and her dog, “Maggie.”
Additionally, ribbons were awarded in all classes and Best in Show trophies and were awarded in each division.
Linda Horner, 4-H youth development program coordinator, stated thanked Smeltzer and Sons Feed and Pet Supplies for their continued support of our 4-H Pet Show. The 4-H Youth Development Program is a success because of the support it receives from local businesses such as Smeltzer and sons and our many volunteers.”
The pet show had many classes in a variety of categories from cats with the longest whiskers, dogs with the best trick or the rabbit with the longest ears.
