Animal Shelter Seeks Blankets for Cold Critters

By Herald Staff

CREST HAVEN – The Cape May County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 110 Shelter Road in Court House, is asking for donations of blankets during this spell of exceptionally cold weather. Acting Shelter Director Jim Abbott said, “Even though our kennels are heated, on these very cold nights, we would like to be able to give the dogs a blanket to curl up in.”
Lightweight blankets that can be washed and re-used are especially needed; however, because the wires can pose a health threat if chewed, donation of electric blankets is discouraged. Additionally, the Shelter is in need of clean towels and sheets, but blankets are the most urgent need at this time.
The shelter is located off Exit 11 of the Garden State Parkway, at the end of Moore Road, past the Crest Haven Complex. The Shelter is open every day from 10 a.m., and can be reached by calling 465-8923.
