COURT HOUSE — The Cape May County 4-H Fall Equine Health Clinic will be held Dec. 14, 2013. On this date, veterinarians and clinic volunteers travel throughout the county to participants’ farms and boarding stables, offering equine de-worming and vaccinations at a reduced fee.
These semi-annual equine health clinics, held each December and March, are cooperative endeavors between local veterinarians from South Jersey Equine Associates and Rutgers Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Youth Development Program. They are coordinated under the direction of 4-H volunteer Nancy Rothenbiller.
Dr. Robert Newman, lead clinic veterinarian, encourages local equine owners to take advantage of this opportunity to vaccinate and de-worm their horses regularly.
The 4-H Youth Development Program is part of Rutgers Cooperative Extension. 4-H educational programs are offered to all youth, grades K-13, on an age-appropriate basis, without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
The clinic is open to all horse and pony owners in Cape May County. The registration deadline is December 6. Please contact Linda Horner at 465-5115 for a registration form.
For additional information about the 4-H Youth Development Program, contact Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, at 465-5115, Mon. – Fri., 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or www.cmc4h.org.
