By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – The Pitchforks & Buckets 4-H Club will host the 2nd Annual Cape Rabbit Show May 16 and 17. Doors open at 7:00 a.m. and will run till around 4:00 p.m. each day. The show, sanctioned by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA), will take place at the Lockwood 4-H Youth Center, located on the 4-H fairgrounds at 355 Court House-S. Dennis Rd., Cape May Court House.
Last year’s show, the club’s first, included over 1,000 rabbits and 250 guinea pigs on just one day. Club Leader Duke Hamann expects even more rabbits this year. “This year our show will be two days and features two open shows each day as well as several specialty shows. We will have over 40 different breeds of rabbits and we are expecting over 3000 rabbits at this year’s event!”
ARBA is an organization dedicated to the promotion, development and improvement of the domestic rabbit and cavy. With over 23,000 members throughout the United States, Canada, and abroad, their members range from the pet owner with one rabbit or cavy to the breeder or commercial raiser with several hundred animals.
Anyone interested in showing his or her rabbit in the show may contact Hamann on Facebook by searching “Cape Rabbit Show” or by sending him an e-mail at caperabbitshow@gmail.com.
Visitors are welcome to come see the show. Food will be available from Boy Scout Troop 76. For more information, please contact Duke Hamann, at (609) 780-7616.
