L.C.M. Boys; O.C. Girls Look for S.J. Group Titles

The Lower Cape May Regional High School boys basketball team.

By Steph Cella

The Lower Cape May boys and Ocean City girls basketball teams are heading to their respective group sectional finals tonight in hopes of bringing titles back to their schools.
Lower Cape May (21-6) is ranked 5th in South Jersey Group II and will take on No. 2 Haddonfield (26-3) at Cherry Hill East. The Caper Tigers have not won a sectional title and their last appearance in the championship game was in 1988.
Ocean City (21-8) is ranked 3rd in South Jersey Group III and will take on rival Mainland Regional (28-0) in Linwood. The Red Raiders won last year’s final game against the Mustangs, but in the three meetings between the two this season, Mainland went 3-0.
Results/video highlights of both finals will be featured in this week’s Under Review with Pete Thompson.
