Three Cape May area wineries will be staging their own Wine & Chocolate Wine Trail Saturday and Sunday Feb. 6 and 7 and Feb. 13 and 14 in anticipation of Valentine’s Day.
Hawk Haven Vineyard & Winery will get an early jump on the Wine & Chocolate Wine Trail Weekend when it holds its first wine pairing dinner with a special chocolate themed menu Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. for $48 a person.
Reservations are required and the evening includes a special three-course wine pairing dinner developed by private chef, Ewa Nadolczak, for the annual Garden State Wine Growers Association event.
Dinner will feature chicken and polenta with a chocolate port wine sauce and rack of lamb in expresso mole sauce. The evening includes live music by herbmoorejazz.com.
On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12 and 13 at 7 p.m., Hawk Haven will stage its Eat Red, Drink Red for Valentine’s Dinner with Chef Nadolczak preparing a special three-course wine pairing dinner, featuring pasta nests with shrimp, red wine vinegarette, feta cheese and olives and red pepper stuffed chicken breasts wrapped in proscuitto.
Again reservations are required, dinner is $48 a person and music will be by herbmoorejazz.com.
On Feb. 6 and 7, from noon to 4 p.m., Cape May Winery will feature a local chocolate maker who will pair her decadent delights with the vineyard’s red wines. On Feb. 13 And 14, the winery will also be celebrating the release of its 2007 Cape May Cabernet Sauvignon and its new Isaac Smith Pinot Noir. Limited quantities of each wine are available. There is no fee for the tastings.
At Natali Vineyards in Cape May Court House, customers are encouraged to bring sweethearts, friends and family from 1 to 5 p.m. to enjoy a relaxing romantic afternoon touring its “Old World Farm Winery.”
Natali will be offering one free sample of its new strawberry wine paired with complimentary bakery items from Victory Bakery, as well as Chocolate Fondue samples from the Melting Pot on Feb. 6 and 7 and Healthy Chocolates from Xocai on Feb. 13and 14.
