Remember driving around Cape May County in January and February of 2009 and seeing piles of white snow everywhere? Well look around, the white has been replaced by blue…blue poly tarps.
Now you may ask, “Why use a tarp?” Well, to keep it simple, tarps cover and protect your possessions from the elements.
Drive around and you will see blue tarps covering boats, cars, barbecues, trees and shrubs, trailers, decks, and sheds. There are even tarps big enough to cover an entire house.
Poly tarps protect and preserve your outdoor furniture and keep your firewood dry. And believe me, if it is a bad winter this year, you will definitely want dry firewood incase the electric goes out and you need an additional heating source.
Another great tarp use is…covering your pool. You can literally save hundreds of dollars.
Blue poly tarps are light weight, reasonably priced, and if cared for properly will last years. Although if you lose one, or it gets torn, tarps are easily replaced.
It’s also important to remember that although blue Poly tarps keep water off your belongings, they are not waterproof. So you need to tie them down securely making sure that they don’t blow around in the wind.
Make sure to purchase tarps that have grommets around all four sides. These types of tarps can be secured easily with bungee cords or rope. They have reinforced corners with a thin rope through the hem.
So if you want to keep your stuff cleaner and drier thru the winter, think about spending a little cash, and take a few minutes to cover your world with a blue poly tarp.
