Treasures Galore at the Habitat ReStore

Treasures Galore at the Habitat ReStore

By Sponsored

Over 60,000 items have been sold in the Habitat ReStore since it opened in June last year. We’ve learned a lot about donated merchandise in the past 16 months – including lots of things that surprised us!
Sofas – We can’t get enough of them, and neither can our customers. We have sold over 900 since we opened our doors – sofa beds, sectionals, love seats and chaise lounges. We’ve had a custom designer sectional with matching chairs from a home in Stone Harbor, and a seven-foot long sofa upholstered in luxurious royal blue velvet that we STILL wish we kept for ourselves. Every sofa in the ReStore is meticulously inspected by our donation ambassadors and steam cleaned (if needed) before hitting the floor. All our upholstered furniture is Luke the Bug Dog approved, as we contract Luke (and his owner) on a regular basis to inspect our floor for any wayward critters.
Dining Room Sets – We are continually amazed at the quantity and quality of full dining room sets we receive at the ReStore. Simple, fancy, elegant, modern – tables that expand with leaves, tables with 12 chairs – our dining sets come in every size and style, and many are in like-new condition. Don’t replace your dining set without checking the bargains at the ReStore first!
Framed Pictures and Mirrors – We receive donated pictures and mirrors every day of the week – so many that we had to expand our display space. Our large north wall holds 40 or more, and the vignette walls are covered with pictures as well. We have discovered valuable original paintings, excellent photographs, signed prints and posters in our collection, and many pictures with expensive, elaborate frames.
Vintage and Handcrafted Furniture – You truly never know what will roll in from our donation truck, which traverses the roads of Cape May County six days a week. We always seem to have a steady stream of mid-century modern classics from the ‘50s and ‘60s. Our current assortment includes 11 rustic hickory chairs that usually retail for up to $400 each, on sale at the ReStore for $100 each. Fortunately our social media guru has an eye for special finds from all eras – and takes photographs daily to post on Instagram and Facebook. Join her following of over 3,300 local residents and be one of the first to see the coolest ReStore items the minute they hit the floor. Follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram: ReStore Cape May.
