Treasures Creatively ReImagined at the ReStore

Treasures Creatively ReImagined at the ReStore

By Sponsored

It’s easier than you think! An inexpensive item from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore – an old end table with “good bones,” a non-descript mirror, a funky chair or even a ceramic flower pot – can be transformed into a one-of-a-kind work of art with mosaic tile, glass or your own artifacts. The Mosaic Workshop at the Habitat ReStore in Cape May Court House is back, with fall sessions starting Monday, Oct. 22 and Monday, Nov. 5. The workshop offers 12 hours of instruction by professional mosaic artist Susan Zipper, and absolutely no experience is necessary to embark on this fun, relaxed, creative adventure.
Each workshop includes a preparatory clinic and four sessions over two weeks, and is designed for adults who are interested in exploring their creativity by resurfacing and embellishing a small furniture or decorative item. Participants are requested to commit to all sessions in order to have enough time to successfully complete their mosaic project. The cost for the full workshop is $75, and includes all materials needed and a suitable furniture piece or object to mosaic from ReStore inventory.
Instructor Susan Zipper is a professional mosaicist who has been teaching fine craft in South Jersey for over 25 years, most recently at the Clay College and Innovation Center in Millville. Workshops are held at the ReStore in Cape May Court House.
OCTOBER WORKSHOP DATES: Introductory Clinic Monday, Oct. 22, 6:30-8 p.m. Sessions Tuesday, Oct. 23, Thursday, Oct. 25, Tuesday, Oct. 30 and Thursday, Nov. 1, 6:30-9 p.m.
NOVEMBER WORKSHOP DATES: Introductory Clinic Monday, Nov. 5, 6:30-8 p.m. Sessions Tuesday, Nov. 6, Thursday, Nov. 8, Tuesday, Nov. 13 and Thursday, Nov. 15, 6:30-9 p.m.
Early registration is encouraged, as classes sell out quickly. Register online at habitatcapemay.org, call the ReStore at (609) 465-1626, or stop by in person at 20 Court House S. Dennis Rd. (next to Big Lots).
