SHOP. DONATE. VOLUNTEER. These words grace front of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Cape May Court House, and our 18-foot box truck (soon to be two trucks!) that travels Cape May County daily picking up donated merchandise. January is all about starting fresh – the perfect time to get involved in our local community through charities like Habitat for Humanity Cape May County.
SHOP. the Cape May Court House ReStore, located right next to Big Lots and around the corner from TJ Maxx/HomeGoods, is packed with 16,000 square feet of donated furniture, appliances, building materials, fixtures, lighting and home décor. Everything is discounted and all proceeds support building Habitat homes right here in Cape May County. Want a different look in your living or dining room this year? Need new furnishings for your rental unit? Is your washing machine, stove or microwave on its last legs? Redoing your kitchen and want a fantastic deal on kitchen cabinets or a sink? Check out the ReStore – proud to be named Best New Business by the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce!
DONATE. Let the ReStore help you with your resolution to downsize, streamline or de-clutter – our friendly donation pickup crew will come to you, free of charge. We love the big stuff – sofas, hutches, refrigerators, doors and windows, dining room sets (in good condition) – just give our donation hotline a call to schedule your pickup: (609) 463-0244 and leave a message on the voicemail. Now is a great time to call, before the spring rush. Have smaller items to donate, or have your own truck? Just drop off your donations behind the ReStore during business hours – Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – and our staff will be happy to assist you.
VOLUNTEER.  Have you always wanted to build with Habitat for Humanity?  We’ll be starting a new house on Tuesday, March 5th on Redwood Avenue in Marmora, near GSP exit 25. We will be building on two side-by-side lots on Redwood, and expect volunteer workdays to continue into fall 2019.  Our crew members don’t need any special skills – we provide training, tools and safety equipment.  Go to habitatcapemay.org and sign up for our mailing list – we’ll let you know as soon as the workdays are posted. You don’t have to swing a hammer to help Habitat – volunteers are also needed to be cashiers, customer service helpers and merchandise organizers at our ReStore– we are even looking for help testing and repairing lamps. Volunteer shifts are either morning or afternoon, and are four hours (10 a.m.-2 p.m. or 2-6 p.m.). To volunteer at Habitat for Humanity Cape May County and the ReStore, stop by at 20 Court House South Dennis Rd., or call us at (609) 465-1626.
