FOLSOM, N.J. – South Jersey Gas hosted its first 811 Day ‘Dig Safe Fair’ to inform local contractors and community members of safe digging practices on Aug. 8 at The Home Depot in Egg Harbor Township. Each year, utilities observe Aug. 11, also known as ‘811 Day,’ with fun and educational community events focused on the importance of calling 811 prior to starting any digging project. Even for a project as small as a mailbox installation or landscaping, a call to 811 is legally required. The fair, co-hosted by Atlantic City Electric® and sponsored by New Jersey One Call, UtiliQuest® and Atlantic Infratrac included informative pamphlets, snacks and giveaways.
