COURT HOUSE — The Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County is now taking applications for the 2011 Master Gardeners Volunteer Training Course.
Individuals with an interest in both gardening and volunteer service are eligible for the program.
No previous experience is necessary.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to volunteer as a Master Gardener and work towards certification.
It is an excellent way to give back to your community by sharing research-based home horticultural information, developing and enhancing community horticulture and environmental programs, and developing your own leadership potential.
Course topics to include: botany and plant identification; vegetable and flower gardening; volunteerism; water conservation; tree and small fruits; soils, fertilizers and composting.
Classes will be held in Court House on Monday, beginning Jan. 10 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
