Replace Rotting Fence to Give Landscaping a Facelift

By Press Release

Fencing, they say, “makes good neighbors.” That quote can be true for a short period of time. Just like anything you own, a fence needs main-tenance. If you do not take care of your fence your neighbor may look at it as an eye sore. This has happened to many fences over this past winter and spring.
Fences were blown over, trees fell on them, snowplows pushed snow into them, and some were even under water. Then, there are fences that are just old and rot-ting from the bottom up.
Cape 47 Lumber sells only wood fences, your basic 4’ to 5’ and 6’ high with gothic tops. We have learned over the years to sell one style, the heavy-duty stockade fence.
It has full pickets made of spruce wood with a gothic top. The thick spruce pickets hold up better to the elements in this area. If you treat this fence with a wood pre-servative it can last up to 15 years.
Most of your fence posts should be set in concrete. The soil in Cape May County is very sandy and the water table is very high. So by setting your posts in cement it will help keep your fence in an upright position.
Remember to always check your local ordi-nances for restriction on installing a fence.
By keeping your fence looking good that old saying “fences make good neighbors” can apply to you and your neighbor.
Stop in and see us at Cape 47 Lumber.
Bring your measure-ments and we will quote you on a heavy-duty, thick stockade fence that will make your property look great.
(The above was submit-ted by Bob Shore of Cape 47 Lumber.)
