Quarry Cut Natural Thin Stone is real stone cut to an average of 1 to 1.5 inches thick. It is under15 lb per sq.ft. when installed on a wall.
Because it is real building stone, the natural color will not fade like the dyes added to the concrete in the imitation manufactured thin veneer stones. Because it is real stone it will not effloresce like the surface of other man made masonry veneer products.
There are a number of cautions associated with man made, concrete based imitation stone – wet cement smeared on imitation stone could leave a thin film that dulls the stone, salt will damage imitation stone, avoid getting mud splashed on the stone and the white powdery substance called efflorescence which is from the evaporation of water, can stain the surface of stucco, concrete, brick and other masonry products including imitation stone.
