WOODBINE — The Cape May County Library will present an Herb Dish Garden demonstration at the Woodbine Branch of the Cape May County library, 800 Monroe Street, Woodbine, on May 12, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
The presenter will be Joseph Alvarez, who regularly gives gardening and horticultural programs at various Cape May County library locations, including Woodbine where he is a much-sought after speaker.
Joe has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology/Environmental Science, is a Board Member of the Friends of Cape May National Wildlife Refuge, a founding member of the Cape May County Beach Plum Association, and is active in many county and agricultural programs in South Jersey.
Herbs have and always will play a vital role in man’s existence. Herbs have been used in many aspects of everyday living from preservation to homespun remedies to fabric dyes. Joe Alvarez will discuss the history, practical use of, and gardening of herbs.
