DIY Window Towel Holder

After

By Designed and Executed by Kathy Baglivo of Ocean City

Kathy Baglivo recently purchased a summer home in Ocean City, and she really wanted to make it her own. She had a couple of old wooden windows lying around and realized she could do something with them to create a unique, beachy piece for the large blank wall in the bathroom. She decided to turn one of the windows into a repurposed towel holder with some seashell accents to coordinate with the theme of the bathroom. Kathy shares that the project only took about two hours, and she is very happy with the results. Here are the steps Kathy took to complete this simple project:
Step 1: First, she removed some of the glass panes from the window. Kathy shares that this was the hardest part!
Step 2: Next, she sanded some edges and small areas of the window to create a more rustic cottage look.
Step 3: She then placed some seashells on the window to tie the piece into the room.
Step 4: After, she added blocks on the back of the window to bump it out a bit from the wall so the towels would fit, as well as hanging hardware.
Step 5: Lastly, she hung the window towel holder with some help from her husband and added the final touch, the towels!
Total Cost: Approximately $20
