“I know I have a jar of pickles somewhere in this pantry, just let me take these out, and move this, and slide these over, and…hmm, I thought I had some pickles in here.”
Many of us have faced similar situations in our own kitchens and pantries. Shelves often packed so full that we no longer know where anything is or what we have. How often do you have to get on your hands and knees to reach those hard to find pots, pans and platters in the back of your base cabinets? There are simple solutions to these aggravating annoyances with cabinet and pantry inserts that swing, stack, roll and slide-out. Most existing cabinetry can be fitted with these sturdy organizers of stainless steel or wood to increase your cabinet’s accessibility and functional storage.
Single pullout trays with tall sides mounted to the bottom of base cabinets will certainly make your life easier! Pantry pullouts fastened to existing shelves are a simple way to help you find all your boxes, bottles, cans, and jars. Door insides are often overlooked for storing spices and accessories. But be careful, sometimes you may lose shelf space inside the cabinet. In the past, blind corner base cabinets were very difficult to utilize. You never knew what was hiding back behind the adjacent cabinet. Now you can access more of the dead space with these half-moon Lazy Susan shelves that pivot and pullout. Other units provide even more useable storage with combination pullouts that utilize almost all of the blind space.
Consider having your base cabinet door mounted directly to the pullout so the shelf or tray will pull out as you open the cabinet. Make sure you use full extension drawer glides so you can access the entire space. If you’re remodeling your kitchen many cabinet manufacturers offer pullout shelves and trays for their cabinets pre-installed. Ask your kitchen designer for options to make your life easier and more convenient.
