With spring just days away, now is the time to kick winter out and bring some life back into your home. One way to do this is by adding color to your kitchen, one of the busiest rooms in the house where family and friends often gather. Here are eight ways you can brighten your kitchen with some pops of color!
1. Wall decals
Add instant color to your kitchen with wall decals! Wall decals are fun, affordable and easy to apply. With endless designs and colors available, you’re bound to find something that fits your kitchen’s style. Best of all, wall decals aren’t permanent, don’t damage walls and come off easily.
2. Shelves
If you have available wall space, consider installing shelves. Line these shelves with colorful cookware, dinnerware and other décor accents. This is a great way to introduce color into your kitchen, all while adding storage space and showcasing some of your favorite pieces!
3. Window treatments
A window treatment can really enhance the look of your kitchen. Choose a window treatment with one prominent color, and pair it with accessories such as vases, bowls or even appliances in that same color to tie everything together.
4. Sinks
Although it’s a bold move, installing a colored sink will add both color and character to your kitchen. A variety of colors, bowl options and add-on accessories are usually available for these types of sinks, allowing you to fully customize your sink to fit right into your kitchen. It’s sure to be a showstopper!
5. Area rugs
An easy and affordable way to brighten the kitchen is by adding a colorful area rug below the dining area. We suggest something that can withstand heavy foot traffic and occasional spills; in other words, go for darker colors!
6. Walls
A single painted accent wall can add life to any kitchen. Take a look at your existing kitchen décor, choose a color that suits the room and decide which wall the color would look best on. Watch your kitchen completely transform!
7. Linens
Vibrant hand towels displayed on the oven door handles can perk up the kitchen in an inexpensive way. Add even more color by hanging aprons or oven mitts from hooks on the wall or a shelf.
8. Cabinets
A kitchen full of bright blue cabinets might be a little harsh on the eyes; but contrasting upper and lower cabinetry adds much visual interest to the space. Consider painting your lower or island cabinets in a standout color.
