Woodbine Sets Trick or Treat

By Press Release

WOODBINE – Mayor William Pikolycky is pleased to announce that the Borough of Woodbine has set Trick or Treat hours as 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.
The Woodbine Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization is again sponsoring their “Trunk or Treat” event, along with Woodbine Recreation and Woodbine Volunteer Fire Department.
The event will take place at the far end of the bikepath, between Washington and Lincoln Avenues, starting at 5 p.m. and going until 8 p.m. Adults can fill their vehicle trunks with goodies and give them out to the children as they walk the bikepath. All community members are welcome to come out and park your cars (decorations are optional) and participate in the Festivities for a Safe Environment Halloween. For more information and to register your vehicle, please call the school at 861-5174.
Event is open to all Woodbine residents.
There will be a Haunted Hayride for all ages, organized by the Fire and Recreation Departments at the cost of a dollar a person.
Residents may still provide Halloween treats at their homes during the set Trick or Treat hours.
“Many thanks to the PTO, Woodbine Recreation, and our Fire Department for taking part in this safe alternative Halloween activity. I again urge local residents to take advantage of this opportunity to both distribute, and have their children receive, their Trick or Treat goodies in a community-based secure environment, where all the youngsters can share in the evening’s fun,” commented Mayor Pikolycky. “It has been well attended in the past and we hope it will continue on as a substitute local tradition for our time-honored house to house version.”
