Winners to Help Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

By Press Release

NORTH WILDWOOD – Two prize winning students at Middle Township High School will help North Wildwood celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
Senior Brooke Iacono, the current Miss North Wildwood, and junior Alyssa Sullivan, recently crowned Miss New Jersey’s Outstanding Teen , have accepted invitations to appear in North Wildwood’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.
“We are honored to feature in our parade students of such high achievements in the classroom as well as in their volunteer community lives,” said North Wildwood entertainment coordinator Joe Quattrone. “They are evidence that there is much good in many of our teenagers today.”
The parade will start at noon on Saturday, March 16, in front of the City Hall on Atlantic Avenue, and will proceed north to Olde New Jersey Avenue and then south on Olde New Jersey to the Anglesea Fire House.
The 18-year-old Iacono, who was selected as Miss North Wildwood Last July, is an honors student and will attend Kent State University this fall. Sullivan, 17, made her Broadway debut last year when she finished fourth there in a national competition as “Broadway Rising Star.” Also a high honors student, Sullivan will be competing in August in Orlando for the national title of Outstanding Teen. She plans to attend the New York University Tish School ol the Arts where she will major in musical theatre.
Both are active members of the Our Lady of the Angels R.C. Church in Court House. When she was younger, Iacono starred a campaign to collect and provide first holy communion dresses for girls who could not afford them. Sullivan, a eucharistic minister, lector and youth group leader at the church, is leading a peer challenge program throughout the state in which she urges abstinence from intimacy until marriage. Last year she brought her program to the Margaret Mace elementary school in North Wildwood.
