WILDWOOD – Cape Assist will hold its annual lighting of the Tree of Hope on Dec. 8 at 6:00 pm at its headquarters in Wildwood, 3819 New Jersey Avenue. This year’s dedication ceremony is being sponsored by Mitchell Nichols Excavation & Demolition.
Special guest Dickie Noles, pitcher for the 1980 Philadelphia Phillies World Series Champions, will speak. “Mr. Noles was here last year and we are delighted to have him back,” Executive Director Lynne Krukosky stated, adding that “he speaks with such compassion, optimism, and humor on a mission that we share, and he is a wonderful story teller.”
A special holiday reception catered by Alumni Grill will follow with a variety of hors d’oeuvres, festive desserts, and Cape Assist’s famous holiday punch, all are invited to attend.
The Tree of Hope symbolizes the hope of recovery for all those struggling with and recovering from addiction. Ornaments are available for purchase to hang on the tree in honor of loved ones and friends. Ribbons attached to each ornament carry the loved one’s name to shine on the tree throughout the holiday season, and also remembers those who are no longer with us.
There is no charge to attend the ceremony and reception, but space is limited. To dedicate an ornament on the Tree of Hope, or to RSVP to the dedication ceremony, please call 522-5960 by December 5th.
