Toy and Food Drive Will Bring Holiday Cheer to Local Families in Need

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY – For the past nineteen years, Sea Isle City Mayor Leonard Desiderio and his “elves” have hosted an annual Christmas Toy and Food Drive for local families in need. This year, because of the challenging economic times many people are facing, the mayor, his City Hall co-workers and other volunteers from the community will work even harder to ensure that as many families as possible enjoy the approaching holiday season.
To fulfill their goal, the drive’s volunteers will collect nonperishable food items, children’s gifts, cash donations and gift cards until Dec. 19. The collected items will then be delivered to local families prior to Dec. 25. Residents, business owners, organizations and civic groups from Sea Isle City and the surrounding community are encouraged to drop-off donations for this worthy cause at the following Sea Isle City locations: City Hall, 4416 Landis Avenue, City Council Chambers, 233 JFK Boulevard, KIX-McNutley’s Packaged Goods, 63rd and Landis Avenue, Mrs. Brizzle’s Buns and Deli, 46th and Landis Avenue, Rick’s Breakfast House, 6114 Landis Avenue, First Bank of Sea Isle City, 4301 Landis Avenue, and The Lobster Loft Restaurant, 42nd and the Bay.
Donors providing wrapped children’s gifts are asked to label each item with the appropriate age and gender of the intended recipient. Checks made out to “Mayor’s Toy and Food Drive” will be gladly accepted and turned into gifts for the needy.
