Time Change for Friday’s Middle Township Parade

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – Middle Township announced that the popular Radio Disney will be making an exclusive appearance at the Township’s “Christmas in Middle” celebration on Dec. 13. The “Christmas in Middle” celebration follows the Township’s annual holiday parade which begins Friday at 6:30 p.m. along Route 9 in Cape May Court House. The parade, Radio Disney appearance, and “Christmas in Middle” event were all postponed from Friday, December 6th, due to inclement weather.
Middle Township will hold its “Christmas in Middle” celebration at the Middle Township Municipal Building beginning at 7:00pm. Radio Disney will appear at the Municipal Building between 7:00-8:00pm with a special holiday themed event selected for Middle Township. Holiday music will be provided along with special Disney games, and cool Disney-related prizes. Radio Disney will also have the chance for parents to register free for a big prize giveaway that will be announced on site during the event. The Radio Disney appearance in Middle Township is being presented by Comcast.
Before the “Christmas in Middle” event, the Township will host its annual holiday parade along Route 9 in Cape May Court House. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. and departs the Acme Supermarket parking lot and proceeds southbound on Route 9 turning right onto Hand Avenue and making a turn onto Boyd Street. Trophies will be awarded for winning floats and entries. The parade features many attractions including a performance by the Middle Township Panther Marching Band. Santa Claus will be on a fire truck and will light the Middle Township Christmas tree at the conclusion of the parade which officially begins the “Christmas in Middle Township” activities.
During the “Christmas in Middle” celebration, Mrs. Claus will read stories inside the court room with free juice, cookies, and crafts available for the children. Local organizations will participate in the celebration including a balloon artist, the Cape May County Library, and the Lighthouse Church Choir.
Also highlighting the holiday celebration in Middle Township Friday evening will be the Middle Township Chamber of Commerce’s “Tree of Life” celebration held inside the Old Firehouse at the Municipal Building parking lot. Members of the public will have the opportunity to bid on decorated holiday trees. Proceeds from the “Tree of Life” auction benefit the United Way of Cape May County, Cape Assist, and Holy Redeemer.
