‘Thrifting’ at North End Thrift Shops

By Sponsored Content

The practice of “thrifting” is a great way to save lots of cold hard cash. Thrifting is an easy frugal way to acquire almost anything.
And these days it has become a trendy way to find interesting, practical, and functional items at very low prices.
In the past “Charity Shops” filled with donated items and staffed by volunteers provided many of the necessities for those in need. Today thrift shops offer the thrifter a much greater selection and higher quality items, and a way to express their unique style with items new and old, including antiques and collectibles from different eras.
North End Thrift is not the typical thrift shop. We offer so much more. “We Buy and Sell Almost Anything.” We really do.
At our Villas location, 901 Bayshore Road across from the Catholic Church, we commonly hear costumers say they can’t believe all the stuff we have and how well it is displayed.
There is a misconception that we only deal in really old items. When in fact, as previously noted: “We buy and sell almost anything” — gently used hand and power tools, fishing and hunting gear, flat screens and laptops, musical instruments, appliances, furniture, coins, jewelry, and currently the finest fresh cut Frasier fir Christmas trees.
And we pay top dollar for gold and silver.
Although we definitely enjoy buying and selling antiques and vintage collectibles, we strive to provide all the necessities that people need. And because we specialize in house clean-outs, we frequently get to clean out some really great houses where we find some really great stuff.
Our second shop, on the way out of Cape May on the corner of Texas Ave. and Washington St. across from the C-View Inn, North End Thrift showcases some of our best finds — everything from primitive pieces, glassware, shabby chic, household items, military items and a fabulous selection of previously owned furniture.
Note that because our Cape May shop was originally opened as an antique shop, we tend to have a larger selection of antiques, estate jewelry and fine art there. Despite its plain exterior, this shop offers one of kind treasures that appeal to a variety of tastes.
Whether you are new to thrifting or a seasoned professional, every thrifting experience is a new and unique treasure hunt.
Besides the economic benefits of thrifting, purchasing or repurchasing used items helps reduce waste by saving them from landfills.
While thrifting you will find that although items may be second hand or previously owned, they are a bargain and well worth hunting and searching for. That’s part of the enjoyment of the “thrifting” experience.
As you can imagine our home is filled with great stuff we come across through our business and our own thrifting. We enjoy searching for treasures and frequent other great thrift shops in the area.
We marvel at how often we seem to find that perfect must have item. So when you need that special gift, beautiful piece of jewelry, new toy, addition to your collection, or bedroom, dining or living room piece, stop in to see what we have. Our selection is constantly changing. We are always interested in buying “new” stuff.
Even in the off season our Villas shop is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and in Cape May we are open everyday except Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
