By CAROL M. McDOWELL
It seemed an ordinary night
To shepherds guarding their sheep on that vast Judean plain
While in a cave, not far from sight
A virgin bore her son in pain.
The lambs, no ordinary fold
For the Temple sacrifice – yearlings chosen spotless and pure
Just so would this King, now midst frankincense, myrrh and gold
Would be bound, His destiny was sure.
Evil Herod would seek His life
Angels warned Joseph’s family to go till Herod’s last day
Jesus knew favor and grace not strife
Scribes stared; He knew far more than they.
Cousin John in the wilderness
Depending on God’s provision, called to the crowds to repent
The religious called it madness
John foretold One far greater would be sent.
To be baptized, Jesus came one day
John said it should be Jesus, not him blessed so law was met
God’s approval heard – a dove sent
Jesus quietly went His way.
Tempted with evil powers dark
He countered each with the Word that Israel would walk in Light
So when tried by evil’s night
Boldly speak to evil Truth’s spark.
In this darkness be a bright light
Speak truth against every lie bringing peace where there’s hurt and rage
You’re engraved in the palm of His hand
The secret place of the Most High.

Cape May – Joe Biden was one thing, but Kamala Harris is another story altogether. She brings absolutely nothing to the table to solve the border issue that she clearly ignored, and her energy policies change…
