COURT HOUSE – The holiday spirit began early for Michael Seitzinger of Middle Township. The Middle Township Middle School student was determined to spread good will to other children hospitalized during the holiday season by providing gifts.
He set out on a mission to save allowances for chores and diligently collected prize tickets from game winnings at Regis’ Arcade in Stone Harbor. At the end of the summer, Michael returned to Regis’ and exchanged the tickets for prizes and also used his savings to select gifts for the children who may be patients at Cape Regional Medical Center.
On Dec. 21, Michael, joined by his father, Rob, and sister, Caroline, surprised the pediatric staff with their delivery of the beautifully wrapped packages. As a family, they placed the gifts under the department tree as they shared their wish to brighten the lives of children who may need to stay in the hospital during the holiday season.
“What an amazing young man,” said Lisa Nichols, MSN, director of pediatrics. “The staff and patients are amazed and so grateful for Michael’s generosity. How refreshing to see the true holiday spirit shared in such a warm and wonderful way.”
