Lower Township Rotary Christmas Parade Steps Off Dec. 13

VILLAS – Mark your calendars for the Lower Township Rotary Club’s annual Christmas Parade Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.
A host of floats, bands and brightly decorated fire trucks will step off from the starting point at Bayshore and Breakwater roads and head south on Bayshore Road to the ending point near the Bank of America.
The parade is celebrating 33 years of marching down Bayshore Road and is a chance for the community to come together in a fun and festive way.
Claudia Kammer, who is the secretary of the Lower Township Rotary Clubs, said that the club would love to grow the size of the parade and get more community or businesses signed up to participate.
“It is a great way to show off your community pride,” she noted. “We would love to have as more people signing up to do their part in what has become a wonderful tradition in Lower Township.”
There is no fee to sign up to be in the parade and it is open to families, individuals, community groups, churches, bands, businesses to participate.
A contest for top parade entries is also held with the judging taking place as the parade passes Uncle Bill’s on Bayshore Road and the awards given immediately after the parade is completed.
