Independence Day Celebration on the Delaware Bay

By Sponsored Content

NORTH CAPE MAY – On July 3, 2013, an Independence Day Fireworks show will once again illuminate the Delaware Bay Coastline in Lower Township, New Jersey. The fireworks show will launch at approximately 9:00 p.m. from a barge roughly one half mile off shore of the Cape May ferry terminal. Wind and weather conditions may slightly alter the starting time of the fireworks display.
Spectators can set up their beach chairs on the green of the Cape May ferry terminal to see the fireworks illuminate the sky over the Bay. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the On the Rocks Waterfront Grill and the Terminal Food Court.
“Lower Township is thrilled to be able to provide the fireworks for the enjoyment of both our residents and our visitors,” Mayor Michael Beck said. “It is a township tradition, and certainly will be for a long time to come. We wish to thank the DRBA for all their help in putting on this event.”
“We have a great partnership with Lower Township,” said Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations. “The Independence Day Festival is a fantastic, patriotic, family event and we’re happy to share the view from our terminal for residents and visitors to enjoy the fireworks.”
The firework display is a part of Lower Townships “Independence Day Festival” which will be held on Bay Drive in North Cape May, NJ beginning at 5:00 p.m. After visiting the festival, grab your blankets and chairs and head down to the Cape May ferry terminal to enjoy free entertainment before the fireworks. Face painting for the kids and live music performed by Philadelphia based band, “Jumper” will fill the night with fun and excitement from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Lighthouse Pete, the Pirate, the famed Ferry mascot, will also join the fun at the festival and the terminal too!
