COURT HOUSE — While summer still has days to go until autumn, Cape May County’s unofficial end to summer arrived about midday Sept. 2 when the Garden State Parkway was jammed northbound through the county seat.
Cloudy skies did not help the visitors deepen their tans, although some paid the season’s final visit to area beaches, the last fling before classes resume in schools.
In two more seasons, if the schedule is maintained, there should no longer be lines of traffic waiting to leave the county. That’s because by 2015 the three overpasses should be in place to handle the traffic over Garden State Parkway Exits 9, 10 and 11 at about 65 mph.
