Holiday House Tour a Success Raising Funds for Student Activities

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY – On Dec. 9, the Sea Isle City Public School Parent-Teacher Association hosted their 4th Annual Holiday House Tour, which raised funds for student activities and spread good cheer throughout Sea Isle City. Nearly 150 people took the tour, making stops at nine festively-decorated properties that were each unique in their own way.
The self-guided tour began inside the public school, located at 46th Street and Park Road, where choirs of young students filled the air with joyous music. As participants registered for the tour, they also were able to win door prizes and purchase hot food provided by Sea Isle’s Andrea Trattoria Italian Restaurant.
Once out in the cool night air, tour-takers roamed the town on their way to the tour’s beautifully-decorated homes, where guests were welcomed by the evening’s gracious homeowners – some of whom offered light refreshments and cold drinks to visitors. The properties featured on the tour included the homes of Dustin and Debbie Laricks, 4720 Park Road, Tom and Pat Nicholas, 4901 Central Avenue, Christopher Glancey, 4009 Landis Avenue, Marci and Mark Schankweiler, 4711 Central Avenue, Marie and John Peltier, 9113 Landis Avenue, and both sides of a side-by-side duplex at 7600 Landis Avenue owned by life-long friends Jim and Margie Phelan and Jim and Ginny Carlin, who were celebrating three generations of their family’s friendship.
Also included on the tour was the Victorian-era Colonnade Inn, 4600 Landis Avenue, and The Townsend Inlet Civic Center, 138 85th Street, both of which were also fully-decorated for the Christmas season.
According to Angela Beard, one of the event’s organizers, it was quite a successful evening. “We had a very good turn-out, and we raised a lot of money for field trips and other student activities. Once again, we had a variety of beautiful homes on the tour, and we are very grateful to all of the homeowners who opened their doors to the community.”
