NORTH WILDWOOD — With a light mist falling and fog settling in, Santa not only had to use Rudolph to help him guide his sleigh to this seaside town, he also had to use the beacon of the city’s famous lighthouse to help bring him in.
Songs, fire engines, speeches and a Christmas tree that is so tall it touched the rafters of the lighthouse’s gazebo were all on hand the evening of Dec. 7 to welcome Santa and his wife as they made their way up Central Avenue atop a fire truck decorated for the holiday.
Carolers from throughout the town sang as hundreds of people jammed the courtyard. Children watched with bated breath as Santa made his way from the street to the gazebo where he and Mrs. Claus held court to listen to wishes.
