Grade School Memories at Christmas

By Pam Schippe

In 1957 one of my fondest memories of being in the sixth grade was lunch time.
During Christmas week, my teacher let the girls in my class tie jingle bells to their shoe laces. AS we walted, you could hear the jingle of each step as our shoes moved back and forth.
After we ate we went straight to the gym to dance to the “Jingle Bell Rock.” It is still popular on the radio today. It was such fun to hear the jingle of the bells on our shoes as we moved to the music.
I think of this each and every time I hear that song at Christmas time on the radio.
Schippe writes from Rio Grande.
